Church Council 2010

Church Council plans and proposes the mission and ministry plan of Grace Lutheran Church and oversees all committees and activities central to the life of the church. New members are elected at the annual meeting in January and serve three-year terms.

 

2010 Church council members are Carole Schlapkohl, Lynn Kenny, Dan Madison, Rita Matthaidess, Mike Seiler, Scott Pottebaum (Pres), JoAnn Slater, Kerri Hardy, Pastor Bernau, and Joe Doerges.

 
 


Christian Education - The purpose is to help people love Jesus and love the way Jesus loved. The committee is responsible for children's church school, vacation Bible school
, confirmation, and adult education.

Community Life - The purpose is to offer opportunities and activities for the members of Grace Lutheran Church to stay connected in a growing congregation. By getting to know one another, we will be strengthened in our journey of faith and ministries.

Property - The responsibilities include the acquisition, development, maintenance, and protection of our property in order to advance our ministry.

Stewardship - The focus is on the congregation's understanding of stewardship to include time, talents and treasure.

Visitor Follow-up - The purpose is to always welcome a new face at Grace Lutheran Church.

Social Action - The responsibility is to coordinate projects which help others outside the congregation - locally, nationally, and world-wide.

Prayer Team - The purpose is to commit to pray daily for those in need and lift up the community of Grace and the world in prayer.

Worship - The purpose is to guide the worship life of the congregation including regular and special services, nursery, music, fellowship, and worship servants.

Nominations - The responsibility is to submit names for three-year terms on Church Council and other special committees and teams.
