We are Grace!

.. How We Do Things and Why

Welcome to Grace Lutheran Church. We are a young, active and growing congregation. Our mission is to preach, teach and reach out with the love of God in Jesus Christ.

Grace Lutheran Church was conceived on Pentecost Sunday in 1995, when 50 people interested in starting a new church gathered for their first worship service at a local brew pub in Adel. The new community grew and was recognized as a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in November of 1999. Five years later, we moved into our newly constructed church just south of Adel on highway 169. Today, we have about 300 baptized members.

Central to all we do as a congregation is worship. In worship we gather together to be formed as disciples and from worship we are sent out into the world. We teach our faith to members of all ages through a variety of programs including Sunday school, confirmation, Bible studies and small groups. We believe that God has a purpose for everyone and we call that purpose “ministry.” Our members are engaged in many powerful ministries both in the church and in our communities.

One of the strengths of our congregation is our willingness to try new things while at the same time showing great respect for the traditions of our faith.

If you’re looking for a new church home, we hope you’ll visit ours. We think you’ll agree that Grace is a special place!
